European year logo competition

'Move Your Body, Stretch Your Mind' is the motto of the European Year of Education through Sport 2004, which has had to do without a suitable logo so far.

This gap is to be filled now by a pan-European logo competition.

The European Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture, as the initiator of the campaign, is inviting students of graphic design, communication design, visual communication, media design and related disciplines to participate in the competition and to design a logo.

Prospective candidates are to send their entries by September 15.

The winner of the competition will be awarded €5,000 and a trip to Athens or Portugal. There will also be a €5,000 bonus for the winner's faculty.
