The Society for the Protection and Care of Animals is trying to find a new home for a cocker spaniel and a dalmatian which were apparently abandoned by their owners.
Tosca, a pure-bred golden cocker spaniel of about five years, was found wandering the streets of Msida in a terrible state, hungry and with coat all matted and dirty.
Amy, a pure-bred Dalmatian of about four years, has a chronic infection and its tail had to be docked to half-length but otherwise there was nothing wrong with the dog.
The dogs can be seen at the SPCA Home in Floriana, telephone 2123 4431, up to 2 p.m. daily and up to noon on Saturdays.
Another appeal, for a home for 12 puppies from two litters came from Alfred Fenech of the Association for Abandoned Animals.
The puppies were abandoned in Fgura and Zurrieq.
A litter of four eight-week-old puppies was discovered behind the Tip Top establishment in Fgura and a few days later another litter of six-week-old puppies was found abandoned in a Zurrieq field.
Those who wish to adopt the puppies should call Mr Fenech on 7929 7930.
