\nMarsaxlokk Freeport this year with a largely changed formation have not really made their mark this season. In recent years their pastures in the second division have been quite abundant.
A season of transition has seen the team register only one victory so far - against bottom side Otters. Yesterday they inflicted the dose on the same opponents, this time beating them with something to spare.
In fact, the southseasiders left nothing to chance as they gradually pulled away from opponents who, however, refused to surrender completely. But Adrian Farrugia's team had a clear edge.
The decisive twist came in the third session which saw them extend their lead from 5-3 to 10-5.
After that it was all downhill for Marsaxlokk for whom Anton Privitera scored four goals and, perhaps more important, no fewer than ten components in the squad inscribed their names in the scorers' list.
The future could be better for Marsaxlokk.

Ta' Xbiex 6
(0-1, 3-2, 1-2, 6-1)
Ta' Xbiex Mermaids Paradise conceded four late goals and consequently defeat against an ASA Youths team that lasted pace much better.
It was ding-dong for the first three sessions and remained so until midway in the final quarter.
Then, the ASA selection, yesterday playing with most of their regular players except for Andrea Bianchi and Mark Meli, took over completely as they netted four in a row through John Brownrigg and Steve Camilleri, whose late hat-trick completed his nap-hand of goals.
Ta' Xbiex never looked in trim despite alternating the lead with their opponents more than once until the third session.
But the absence of Duncan Schembri was sorely felt and they could not but throw in the towel in the final minutes of the game.
Charlie Mock's team would have to raise their game by more than a notch if they are to keep up their challenge for the league honours.
