BoV staff suggestion scheme
Anthony Cassar, Neville Minuti and Edward J. Bonello are the three BoV employees to win awards under a special staff suggestion scheme that focused on BoV's new 24x7 services, namely BoV Internet and Telephone Banking and the BoV Customer Service Centre.
The winning suggestions were chosen on the basis of their innovation and their relevance in increasing the usage of these already highly popular delivery channels.
The winners were announced by BoV retail banking chief officer Igino Xuereb, when he presented the staff suggestion scheme awards for the third quarter of the current financial year, during a conference for retail banking unit managers held recently.
Addressing the conference, Mr Xuereb announced that BoV had registered a 40 per cent increase in accepted staff suggestions this year compared to the same quarter last year.
"The high levels of participation in BoV's staff suggestion scheme show that employees are involving themselves more actively in the bank's operations.
"More employees are today putting forward their ideas and solutions which, when implemented, facilitate the bank's operations and contribute towards providing a higher quality service to the customer".
Mr Xuereb also presented awards to Raymond Lia from the Bank's Data and Support Operations Centre for submitting the best suggestion of the quarter. Mr Lia proposed a modification to the programme of the existing automailing machines used at BoV resulting in process efficiencies and cost savings.
Rosanne Cutajar from BoV's Paola Branch was declared the best suggestor for the quarter having achieved the highest percentage of accepted suggestions from those submitted.
