Woman treated for shock

A 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital suffering from shock on Sunday after the vehicle she was driving collided head-on with a car driven by a 22-year-old man in Louis Wettinger Street, Mellieha.

The police said the woman, who is from Zebbug, lost control of her Toyota Tercell and ended up on the wrong side of the road when she collided with a Rover 214 being driven by a man from Tarxien travelling in the opposite direction.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged on impact. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance where she was kept under observation. The man was uninjured.
