di-ve organising first LAN party
The popular local internet portal www.di-ve.com will be organising its first LAN party between Friday and Sunday at St James Cavalier, Centre for Creativity, Valletta. During this event gamers are urged to bring their PCs to a central location and spend a weekend of gaming together. The event marks the portal's success in providing the local gaming community the chance to play a number of games with multi-player facility against other players over the Internet via a broadband connection by hosting these games on its servers. The service is free of charge.
The number of Internet gamers using di-ve's gaming servers to play against other gamers from the comfort of their home has grown significantly since di-ve launched this service a year ago. The section is frequented by numerous gamers of all ages and the LAN event will allow these gamers to meet face-to-face and showcase their skills.
Di-ve brand executive Jes Camilleri said, "With the dramatic increase in popularity of our gaming section we saw it fit to bring the cream of Maltese gamers together in one location to battle it out over three days over a special LAN set-up as well as offer the general public the possibility to witness this growing phenomenon. The event further showcases di-ve as the number one choice for Maltese Internet users thanks to the high quality and range of the multimedia services it offers."
