Co-ordinators and teachers from partner schools met recently in La Carlotta, Spain, to evaluate the Euro Stars project's participation during this scholastic year. Participating schools included Greenmere primary school in Oxfordshire, England, Muratori primary school in Turin, Italy, Emil Isac primary school in Romania, Dun Karm Scerri primary school in Naxxar, Malta, and CP Carlos III in Spain.
Various issues relating to language use, the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) between pupils participating in the project and class teachers, integration of project activities within the school syllabus, enhancing parents' awareness about the project and the involvement of the school administration in the project were discussed.
During our stay we also had the opportunity to visit some classrooms and learn about teaching methods and strategies used in the school. A school concert with the participation of various year groups was held.
Spanish children not only demonstrated their dancing, musical and movement talents, but also managed to integrate this with the Comenius school project. Later on, traditional gifts were exchanged. Maltese liqueurs produced by local manufacturers as well as a book about the locality were given to our Spanish friends.
All in all, this was an unforgettable experience where all our partner schools discussed and shared ideas about how to improve our project's co-ordination in the coming years.
