Go Mobile extends GPRS roaming

Go mobile is constantly extending its international roaming portfolio which now covers 157 networks in 86 countries. Go Mobile is providing all its customers with GPRS roaming in the following countries: Italy, UK, Germany, Austria, Finland, Norway, Poland, Turkey and Singapore. The GPRS roaming service will be extended further to cover other territories.

Go Mobile, who has been offering the service since May, was the first mobile operator in Malta to offer GPRS roaming to its pre-paid card plan users. GPRS allows Go Mobile users to send and receive MMS, as well as to utilise Go Online services such as WAP browsing and wireless Internet/ Intranet connectivity for PDAs and laptops. All Go Mobile customers, both contract and Ready to Go card plan users, can make use of GPRS in the countries mentioned above.

Ready to Go card plan users who send and receive MMS when roaming via GPRS, pay 60c for each chunk of 100KB sent or received. Contract customers pay the standard GPRS roaming charges when sending or receiving MMS via GPRS.

When GPRS is not available, Go Mobile customers can still send and receive MMS using standard GSM technology. Contact Go Care on 146 for the applicable charges. At present, Internet or WAP browsing via GPRS is being offered free of charge for a limited trial period.

Go Mobile senior executive for international roaming Michael Balzan said the company is constantly adding more countries to its extensive roaming portfolio, "with GPRS roaming, customers can access Go Online services as well as send and receive MMS. When accessing MMS via GPRS when roaming, customers pay according to the volume of data sent or received."

For activation of GPRS and MMS services as well as more information on international roaming, please call 146 from your Go Mobile or 7922-2146 from other networks, or visit www.go.com.mt.
