Cash stolen in hold-up

A considerable sum of money was stolen in a hold-up on a delivery truck in Balzan yesterday afternoon, the police said.

The truck, which belongs to a drinks company, was stopped in Balzan Valley Road by a car from which three armed men emerged. They forced the driver and a passenger out of the truck before making away with their haul.

The amount stolen was not disclosed.
