Tango at the Barrakka

The first Malta Tango Milonga 2003 is being held at the Upper Barrakka Garden, offering a traditional evening of tango.

The renowned Quinteto Porteño of Marcelo Mercadante is performing live, together with a performance of Argentine tango by the international tango maestros Eric Müller and Juesa Vasconcelos.

Over the past 15 years, Müller and Vasconcelos have developed their own style, based on the tango of the '30s and '40s.

After having founded one of the earliest tango salons in Rio de Janeiro, they moved to Switzerland and have travelled extensively, participating in festivals and organising workshops.

The show, which is being presented by Isla Del Tango in collaboration with Valletta local council, is being held on August 29 and 30.
