The Carlsberg tournament, organised annually by Premier League club Hibernians, gets underway today when the first two matches are played. Four Premier League clubs, namely hosts Hibernians, Floriana, Msida St Joseph and Marsaxlokk, have entered this year's event.

Pietà Hotspurs, last year's winners, will not defend their title as they are currently doing a pre-season training camp in Chianciano Termi, Italy.

Today's opening match at 6 p.m., features Msida, who were promoted to the Premier League as Division One champions at the end of last season, and Hibernians. The second match, kicking off at 8 p.m., is between Floriana and Marsaxlokk. The final round of matches will be held next Monday.

Programme: Today - 6 p.m. Msida SJ vs Hibs; 8 p.m. Floriana vs Marsaxlokk. Wednesday - 6 p.m. Floriana vs Hibs; 8 p.m. Marsaxlokk vs Msida St Joseph. Monday, August 18 - 6 p.m. Msida SJ vs Floriana; Hibernians vs Marsaxlokk.
