German youth alleges rape

A Young German woman is claiming she was raped in the early hours of yesterday morning at a holiday complex in Pembroke.

The police said that two other girls were sleeping in the same room. One of the girls is saying she saw the girl being raped, while the other is saying that she heard nothing because she was asleep.

The police said that the 18-year-old German woman is claiming that she was forced to perform sexual acts before she was raped by a man who entered her room at around 3.30 a.m.

She claimed the man was armed and was wearing a hood on his face.

Police mobile squad officers searched the complex and the area but did not find the intruder.

Sources said that preliminary medical tests had not revealed any signs of violence normally found on rape victims.

However, nothing was being ruled out at this stage.

The investigations are being led by the police vice squad and St Julian's district police.
