Malta is to be featured in Einfach-luxuios (Economical-luxurious), a travel programme on SF1, one of the most popular Swiss television stations.

The travel programme has an audience of 800,000 and is hosted by well-known presenter Monica Schaerer.

During the first part of her travels, Ms Schaerer travelled economically by bike and bus and met a number of colourful characters, such as a bus driver, a saltpan owner, a farmer and a fisherman.

She also visited the Xewkija feast.

During the next, more "luxurious", part of her visit, Ms Schaerer visited Casa Rocca Piccola in Valletta, Grand Harbour and the Three Cities.

The Malta Tourism Authority's Zurich office was instrumental in Malta being chosen to feature in the programme. The initiative was supported by Air Malta.

The broadcast - an exclusive 40-minute Malta-only edition - will be aired on SF1 on September 25.
