An undisclosed sum of money was stolen in a hold-up in a Fleur-de-Lys pharmacy yesterday evening.

Police said that according to preliminary investigations, an armed man wearing a crash helmet entered the pharmacy and pointed what looked like two "metal pipes", sticking out from under a bag, at the pharmacist. He demanded money, and the pharmacist, a 28-year-old woman from St Julian's, complied.

The man made a quick getaway, probably on a motorcycle, the police said.

The duty magistrate has ordered an inquiry, and district and CID police are investigating.
