Government employees will start receiving their salary every four weeks instead of at the end of every month as from September 26, the General Workers' Union said.

The union had been pushing for this move in order to eliminate the difficulties certain employees, especially those on a lower salary, faced when a month happened to have five weeks, leading to a higher deduction of social security contributions.
