Children enjoy learning about animals

A representative of the Society for the Protection and Care of Animals, Rita Brincat, is teaching children attending SkolaSajf on animal welfare.

During an activity at the Alfred Buhagiar Primary School in Rabat on Friday, Animal Awareness Day, the children watched the grooming of Goofy, a fortunate little dog recently adopted as a pet by the school.

The children and teachers held banners reading "Pets are not toys!" and "Animal Rights".

The Rabat council presented them with a new doggy-bed for Goofy and praised them for their caring and concern.

The children also presented some money which they had saved up for the SPCA.

SPCA is visiting another eight localities during SkolaSajf this summer.
