Successful participation

The Maltese Council of Disabled Persons, which is a recently set up, grassroots organisation made up entirely of disabled people, wishes to extend its sincere congratulations to all the disabled athletes who participated so successfully in the Special Olympic Games held recently in Ireland.

Again, disabled persons have given a clear message, that when they are given the right support and encouragement, they can achieve beyond everyone's expectations... in every field, including sport.

It is indeed a great satisfaction to all of us Maltese, disabled people, that various medals: gold, silver and bronze were won fair and square by disabled Maltese athletes.

A big prosit to the disabled athletes, their assistants and their families for doing us all proud.

We do hope their success will encourage even more disabled persons to seize every opportunity to participate in any and all activities which our society has to offer, both on local and even international levels.
