Bus drivers end training course

Ten Maltese and two Gozitan bus owner-drivers have just returned from Portsmouth after taking part in a customer care training programme funded by the European Union's Leonardo da Vinci initiative.

The training was organised by the Malta Tourism Authority's human resource and support services directorate in collaboration with the Malta Transport Authority, the Public Transport Association and the Gozo Bus Owners' Association.

Topics included techniques for the handling of passengers including the elderly, disabled, parents with children, students and tourists. The bus drivers were also given the opportunity to drive modern English buses working on their daily passenger routes.
