Obituary
BUSUTTIL - MERCEDES née Zarb, on July 27, 2003 passed peacefully away at home comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Salvino, her son David Raphael, her stepson Jonathan, her mother Helena, her sisters Claire and Anna, wife of Robert Tua, her brother Michael and his wife Ann, her nephew Julien Tua and her nieces Helena Tua, Beatriz, Gabrielle, Michele and Raphaelle Zarb, her cousins Edward Zarb and Josephine Frendo, her in-laws Joe and his wife Anna, Anna and her husband Sunnie Farrell, Victor and his wife Lois, Carmen and her husband Anthony Borg Barthet, her close friend Fr Peter Serracino Inglott and her many relatives and friends in Malta and abroad.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said at Mgarr parish church tomorrow at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Marija Addolarata Cemetery. May God grant her eternal rest.
CALLEJA. On July 25, at St Luke's Hospital, CHARLES, aged 68, of Lija, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss, his beloved wife Carmen née Galea, his most precious daughters Caroline, wife of Chris Schembri, Cheryl, wife of Alex Camillieri, his son Eman and Isabella, his adorable grandchildren Luke, Benjamin, Rebecca and Nigel, his sister Maryanne, wife of Michael Saliba. He also leaves to mourn his loss his wife's family in Australia, Joe and Stella, Tony and Mary, Doris and Graemme, Mary, Helen and Peter, Louis and Jenny, all his nieces and nephews both in Malta and Australia and his relatives and the innumerable friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 7.30 a.m. for Lija parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Lija Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations will be appreciated to fulfil Charles's dream to help Father Pradeep finish building a church for his community in India. May God grant him peace.
Dearest Charles, I never thought that you will leave me first. We were always together, you always gave me your best. You adored your loving family who always came first to you. I will always love you and you will remain in my heart until the day when God will call me near you to rest. Carmen.
VASSALLO. On July 26, at Villa Messina, Rabat, JOSEPH, aged 83, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his children Dr John Vassallo, Dr Mario Vassallo and his wife Catherine, Antonella and her husband Joseph Mifsud, and Dr Robert Vassallo and his wife Lorraine, his beloved grandchildren David, Peter, James, Louise, Timothy and Sarah, as well as his brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Villa Messina at 1.30 p.m. today for the chapel at the Addolorata Cemetery, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Tomorrow being the 10th anniversary of the passing away of AGNES GRECH née Zammit, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said at 6.30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ta' l-Ibrag. All relatives and friends who enjoyed her during her lifetime are invited to attend.

Musico-Literary Evening
A musico-literary evening will be held at St Catherine's parish church, in Zurrieq on Saturday at 7.45 p.m. to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ordination of the priesthood of the late Michael d'Amato.
The evening will be presided over by archpriest Carmelo Farrugia. Fr John Philip Curmi MSSP will deliver a commemorative speech. The orchestra and the Cantate Domino choir will be directed by Mro Paul Portelli.
Pantomime Auditions
Production company Playhouse will be holding auditions for this year's Christmas pantomime this weekend.
Auditions will be held in The Playhouse, Sir Luigi Preziosi Street, Bugibba, on Friday between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
