Obituary

QUATTROMANI. On July 25, at St Luke's Hospital, ANTOINE of Blata l-Bajda, widower of Laura née Gauci, aged 77, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Graziella, Mariella, and Fernando and his wife Marina, his sisters Mariuccia and her husband Aldo Micallef Grimaud and Carmen and her husband Silvio Cassar, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for Fatima Sanctuary, Guardamangia, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

Requiem Masses

Monday, July 28, being the trigesima die of the demise of RENATO SQUILLANTE, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at 6.45 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel parish church, Paceville (above the Millennium chapel). The presence of those who knew him would be greatly appreciated.

MCAST registration

Registration dates for the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology have been extended by a week.

Applications will be received between Monday and August 4 for surnames starting with A, B, and C.

Those with surnames starting with D on to M may apply between Tuesday and August 3 and those with surnames between N and Z between Wednesday and August 6.

Any applicants who for some reason are unable to submit the application by the above dates may do so on Thursday, Friday, August 7, or August 8.

Gozitan applicants should submit their applications at the MCAST Gozo centre, Xaghra on August 4, 5, 11 and 12 between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 a.m.

Applicants who sat for examinations of overseas awarding bodies and are still awaiting the results may apply for a course provisionally.

Special postmark

Maltapost will be using a special hand postmark, Missione Italiana di Assistenza Tecnico Militare, 30 Anniversario, at the Counter Hall, Valletta on August 1 during office hours.

Health and safety

The Occupational Health and Safety Authority is holding a training course in September entitled The Health and Safety Representative, earmarked for all employers and employees but particularly safety representatives.

Those interested may contact the authority on 21 247677/8 or e-mail: ohsa@gov.mt. Early booking is recommended.

The OHSA is compiling a register of competent persons that does not include commercial entities. Those who wish to be considered for inclusion in the register should send a detailed cv, including proof of competence in occupational health and safety to the authority at 120, St Ursula Street, Valletta.

The OHSA said it was not linked to any commercial centre or other entities offering occupational health and safety services.

It said it was an autonomous authority and did not have the legal power to endorse or commend any courses organised by any entity. Neither did it have commercial partners or joint ventures with any other entity in Malta or abroad.

Car missing

A White Ford Fiesta with registration JAB 792 was reported stolen from Gzira on Sunday night. Anyone seeing the car is requested to contact the owner on 21338689 or the police.

Celebration
10.30 a.m. at St Luke's Hospital's chapel, Guardamangia, celebration in connection with the visit to Malta of the relic of St Therese of Lisieux.

Concert
8 p.m. at the Luxol Grounds, St Andrew's, concert by singer Roberto Bignoli, as part of the programme for the relic of St Therese. The relic will be at the Millennium Chapel, Paceville from 10.15 p.m.
