Seven puppies are up for adoption after unknown individuals set fire to their kennel in Mriehel.

The dogs, no older than two months, were found roaming the industrial area but were rescued by the Association for Abandoned Animals.

The dogs had temporarily found refuge in a building site but were in danger from trucks operating in the area.

"Why anyone would want to burn down these dogs' home is beyond me. They meant no harm," the AAA's Freddie Fenech said.

Anyone wishing to adopt the dogs should call 7929 7930.
