Networks, the team from St Aloysius College that won this year's HSBC Young Enterprise Company of the Year award, have returned from the European finals in London last weekend empty handed but very satisfied with their performance.
"It was a brilliant experience," said Luke Frendo, the company's managing director. "It was very tough but we did well, and had some very good comments from the other teams."
Malta has won the European Company of the Year competition four times in the last 11 years, including last year.
This year the competition was tougher though, with 36 teams vying for the prestigious award compared to 19 in previous years.
Teams had to undergo interviews at their stand and before a panel, make a presentation and present a report.
Networks produced hammocks. A Swiss team won the competition with a skiing-related product, while a Dutch team placed second with a product connected to agriculture.
Luke said it was nice to see that many of the products in the competition had some special connection to the team's country.
Young Enterprise Malta this year celebrated its 15th anniversary since businessman Philip Rizzo founded the organisation in Malta in 1988.
