The Maltese Diabetes Association in Gozo recently held a summer camp for its young members.

The camp for children aged between eight and 14 is held annually with the aim of bringing together in a relaxed environment young people who suffer from diabetes.

There were also various educational activities on how best to deal with diabetes.

The camp was sponsored by the HSBC Cares For Children Fund.

The association has more than 1,000 members. Apart from organising events for children like this camp, it aims to educate its members and the public on diabetes and how to prevent complications arising from it.
