On Saturday, July 12 at a discotheque, on the main road in Bahar ic-Caghaq, the loud music started at 7.30 p.m.

I was unable to watch television. It is not acceptable that residents have to put up with any music that affects their enjoyment of peace and quiet in their own homes. It was so loud that all residents were kept awake all night.

At 1.30 a.m., I phoned Naxxar police station to complain. They said they would investigate. At 4.30 a.m., after not being able to sleep, I contacted the police station again and was told that policemen had been there to attend to other disturbances.

The policeman told me that unless I would be prepared to testify there was little they could do.

I said it was not acceptable that policemen who had visited this club were unable to stop this music throughout the night.

The music finally stopped at 6.30 a.m.

I would be grateful if you would let your readers be aware of this problem in the hope that solutions are found and implemented by someone such as the ministry concerned or by the commissioner of police.
