The Mgarr Hotel's restaurant, The Barumbara, has revamped its image and re-opened its doors as an art café where live music, art and food come together.

The Barumbara Art Café, which officially opened its doors on Saturday, is the brainchild of Mgarr Hotel's operations manager Tony Aquilina, who was inspired to open the café while working in Switzerland.

The traditionally rustic building will play host to a new art exhibition every few weeks, each time focusing on one particular artist.

During the next few weeks artist Christopher Saliba will be exhibiting his paintings at The Barumbara.
