A 32-year-old Turkish woman suffered fractures yesterday when she was hit by a car while crossing St Andrew's Road in Swieqi, police said.

She was rushed to hospital by an ambulance where she was certified as not in danger of losing her life.

The Kia Pride involved in the accident was being driven by a 33-year-old woman from Sliema.

The St Julian's police are investigating.
