A mini series of jazz sessions is being held this week in Valletta to promote The Malta Jazz Festival.

Maltese jazz musicians are taking to the streets of Valletta to delight passers-by with their music.

The Jazz Festival's organiser, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, is offering a sample of traditional jazz music in three different venues in Valletta. All jazz sessions will be held between 10.30 a.m. and noon.

The programme starts today with the Charles Sciberras Quartet featuring singer Olivia Lewis in Republic Street, under the arcades.

Tomorrow, Paul Giordmaina and his duo will perform selections from his extensive repertoire and arrangements that blend traditional and modern sounds. He will be in Republic Street.

Renzo Spiteri's Trio will delight the casual spectators on Thursday with their Latin jazz. This session will also be held in Republic Street.

The Malta Jazz Festival is being held this weekend at Ta' Liesse, starting at 8 p.m. over three nights.
