An exhibition of watercolours, oil and acrylic paintings by Thalia Stones, is being held at the Exhibition Hall of the Gozo Ministry on St Francis Square, Victoria.
The works depict mostly Maltese and Gozitan landscapes.
Mrs Stones studied Fine Art at Hereford College, England, in the late Sixties. Having moved to Cornwall in the early Nineties to become a headteacher of a small village school, she was inspired to capture the beauty of its coastline on canvas.
Already a member of numerous art societies, many of her works were exhibited in galleries and exhibitions.
She and her family started coming to Gozo in 1993 for scuba diving holidays. They fell in love with the Maltese Islands so much that in 1997 Thalia and her husband Philip decided to move and live on Gozo.
The unique coastline and landscape have been a great inspiration for her to portray the natural calmness and beauty of the Maltese Islands.
Having exhibited her works at the Eden Foundation for the past three years she was given the opportunity to have a solo exhibition on It-Tokk in Victoria last year.
The exhibition will be open till Friday from 8.30 a.m. till noon. For further information phone 2155-0136 or 9980-6560.
