Around 100 students from Carlo Diacono Girls' Junior Lyceum, Zejtun, took part in the musical The Lion King, the school's Prize Day production.
L-Iljun Sultan, directed by teacher Stefan Xerri, was adapted by the well-known author Trevor Zahra, until recently Art teacher at the school, from the Disney cartoon film. The choir and soloists were under the direction of Mary Sammut, the music teacher. The musical was choreographed by teacher Graziella Galea, while another teacher, Maria Baldacchino was responsible for the wardrobe.
Vanni Galea, assistant director of education, presided over the ceremony, and after an address by the school head, Maria Ciappara, expressed his appreciation for the work carried out in the school.
More prizes were distributed the next day, this time by Education Minister Dr Louis Galea, and the Director-General of Education, Charles Mizzi.
