Hotel exemplary staff rewarded

A maintenance technician at Le Meridien Phoenicia, in Floriana was among the 140 employees from 60 countries who attended Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts Employees of the Year annual awards in London.

Marc Elshout, who was declared Employee of the Year by Le Meridien Phoenicia for 2002, joined the hotel in August 2001.

His general manager, Benjamin Sington, said Mr Elshout was chosen because of his good attitude towards guests and staff, adding that he is a "solid worker who gets on with his job".

Mr Elshout became the 10th winner of Employee of the Year award since the Phoenicia joined Le Meridien.
