The Broadcasting Authority said 36 television and 41 radio programmes have so far been nominated for the Programme Awards 2002-2003.

The majority of the programmes, 17 per cent, fall under the light entertainment category, followed closely by 16 per cent under the cultural programmes category.

The majority of programmes under the light entertainment category are television productions submitted by the three main television stations while those submitted under the cultural programmes category are mostly radio productions by FM Bronja.

The BA said that to date Super 1 TV has submitted 17 programmes, TVM 12 programmes and NET TV seven programmes.

Radio stations' submissions are headed by Campus FM with 10 submissions, closely followed by Radio 101 and FM Bronja with seven submissions each.

Radju Malta and Super 1 have submitted six programmes each. There have also been a few submissions by community radio stations.
