Ivan Mangion, a 25-year-old employee of Carlo Gavazzi Ltd and a swimming athlete with special needs, was presented with a monetary gift by Ray Attard, managing director, on behalf of the company's management and employees.

Mr Mangion took part in the Special Olympics in Dublin and won a gold and a silver medal in the relay final and 50 metres breast stroke races respectively. Mr Mangion has been a keen swimmer since he was 10 and has managed to obtain as many as seven gold and five silver medals during the past three years. He is a perfectionist by nature and loves to socialise.

Mr Attard has offered to sponsor Mr Mangion's training at the Tal-Qroqq national pool so as to be able to support him in his future efforts and win more gold medals.
