Fourteen young chefs and waiters have received internationally recognised train the trainer certificates after a 12-week training placement in various hotels in Dublin, Galway, Cork and Kilkenny.
The programme was part of the EU Leonardo Da Vinci Vocational Training Programme and was made possible through the Malta Tourism Authority.
The successful participants were: Andrew Abdilla, Daniela Amato, Jason Blake, David Bonett, Elton Borg, Corinne Camilleri, Charles Caruana, Clayton Gauci, Jonathan Muscat, Thomas Muscat, Tania Pintley, Matthew Sammut, Robert Testa and Noel Theuma.
To date, 58 Maltese hospitality employees have been trained as trainers by CERT, the state training agency for the tourism industry in Ireland.
