HSBC Bank Malta has embarked on a programme to upgrade its ATMs.

The programme will eventually lead to the installation of new machines throughout the bank's ATM network over the coming year.

It will include a new operating system and the replacement of the aging ATMs with modern machines which will provide an improved service for customers.

The initial improvements resulting from the software upgrade will give HSBC customers the opportunity to use a number of new services, including the ability to credit third party accounts, to effect credit card payments and withdraw up to Lm200 daily, increased from the present limit of Lm100.

HBSC chief executive Chris Hothersall said the new ATMs would have several new features, a more modern look with new graphics and a bigger screen.

Guidance can be obtained by calling HSBC's 24-hour customer helpline on freephone 8007 4444.
