Roderick Cutajar, head barman at the Seabank Hotel in Ghadira, will be representing Malta in Turin next month after he won this year's Bacardi-Martini Grand Prix.

Roderick beat off stiff competition from 10 other Maltese bartenders to go on to take part in one of the most prestigious bartending competitions for those under 28 years.

There will be 30 bartenders from all over the world taking part in the grand prix and each participant will be judged on cocktails, a written exam and an interview on related topics.

The local competition, which has been organised for the past 30 years, is organised by Wands Limited and P. Cutajar Co. Limited, in collaboration with the Maltese Bartenders Guild.
