Three injured

Three persons were injured in two traffic accidents in Tarxien and Marsa on Thursday.

One of the accidents was a head-on crash in Tal-Barrani Road, Tarxien between a Peugeot 205 driven by a 49-year-old woman from Gzira and a Kia Avella driven by a 52-year-old man from Qormi.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the spot to help the drivers out of the extensively damaged cars.

The police said the man suffered serious injuries but he was not in danger. The woman was only slightly injured.

In the other accident, another Peugeot driver, aged 30 from Paola, was injured when he lost control of the car and crashed into a tree in December 13 Road, Marsa.

The police said his injuries were of a slight nature.
