After a disappointing start to their National League commitments, conceding two heavy defeats to Sirens and Neptunes, San Giljan should finally grab their first points in the Preliminary round when they face Otters tomorrow.

In their previous two outings, the Saints were outclassed by superior opponents and coach Tony Camilleri will have had a tough job to lift the morale of his players.

A win against a modest Otters side is imperative for San Giljan if they are to close the gap with the other challengers for the Division Two championship.

Charles Mock's Ta' Xbiex are one of the teams expected to battle for the lower division title. With two wins from three matches, they seem to be well-equipped to challenge for the honours.

Last week, they trounced Otters 11-2 but today they face a much sterner test in the mould of Marsascala at 6 p.m.

Exiles, 2002 Div. Two champions, are still looking for their first points. Their drought is unlikely to come to an end tomorrow when they face another tough challenge against Sirens.

Marco Manara's men start as underdogs but if they show the same grit as in their defeat to Sliema last week, Exiles should prove a hard nut to crack for the St Paul's Bay outfit.

Neptunes should coast to another comfortable win when they face pointless Marsaxlokk while Sliema play the ASA Youths, a match where no points are at stake.

This weekend's fixtures...

Today
6 p.m. Ta' Xbiex vs Marsascala;
7 p.m. Sliema vs National Youths

Tomorrow
5 p.m. Sirens vs Exiles;
6 p.m. San Giljan vs Otters;
7 p.m. Marsaxlokk vs Neptunes
