Outline permit for Cospicua car park

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority yesterday approved an outline permit for the construction of a multi-storey car park and access tunnel below the school playing field adjacent to Sta Margerita Square, in Cospicua.

The permit was approved on condition that a programme of works is submitted for approval by the authority within 12 weeks.

Planning officer Robert Vella said the car park would have 375 parking lots.

It follows the approval by the then Planning Authority, in March, 2000, of the initial stages of the Cottonera regeneration project subject to a commitment by the government to provide a traffic impact statement and a car park for the project.
