It is not my custom to write in newspapers but after the experience of last Saturday I felt the urge to write to praise the work that Yada Dance Company has done in Gozo so far.

The Yada Dance Academy (Gozo) was set up in 2001, directed by Felix Busuttil and Daron Galea. Every week, be it rain or shine, they cross the channel together with Fiona McKeown and Andrea Cassar to teach our children and grown-ups jazz dancing and classical ballet.

As part of the school curriculum, the scholastic year ends with a show where all the students in every class grade and category give a performance. This year's performance was held on June 28.

I was deeply impressed with the perfect timing, direction, choreography, lighting and performance. The show was flawless and very professional in artistry and organisation. The costumes (around 200) were all sewn for this performance and in line with the theme of the choreography.

To see our seven-year-old son performing and doing his best on stage was highly emotional on our part!

We once again thank Mr Busuttil and his great team for making our life easier by setting up this Academy in Gozo instead of taking our students to Malta (which would have been impossible) thus improving education facilities on our island. I also thank his sister Mariella and her husband Joe for the coordination and administration of this academy.
