Problems of aging discussed

Alexander Tranter, chief executive officer of the CareMalta Group, has been elected to the board of directors of the International Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (IAHSA), a US-based international organisation connecting and supporting care and service providers in the field of aging worldwide.

Ing. Tranter's election took place in Sydney, Australia last week during the fifth international conference attended by over 400 participants.

The conference was on "Global Aging: Partnering in Service Solutions".

Members of IAHSA hail from 35 countries. As a leading international organisation in the field of aging, IAHSA holds special consultative status at the United Nations.

The CareMalta Group of Companies is the largest private company in Malta specialising in elderly care, operating Casa Arkati in Mosta, Villa Messina in Rabat and the government homes in Zejtun and Cospicua.

CareMalta has just embarked on the development of another purpose built home for the elderly in Sliema, called Prince of Wales Residence, which is set to open late next year.
