Junior College student Kimberley Vella won first prize in a French essay competition Visions d'Europe organised by the Alliance Francaise in Paris.

St Aloysius College student Derek Muscat won second prize.

The two will be the guests of the French government in Paris for a week, joining 60 other youngsters from all over Europe on the visit.

The third prize was awarded to Annalise Azzopardi from St Aloysius and fourth prize to Donovan Gatt from the Junior College.

The winners will be awarded books by the Alliance Francaise de Malte.
