Being from Fleur-de-Lys I feel disgusted at the way my home town is being treated by Birkirkara local council.

When Fleur-de-Lys was declared a hamlet, I was chosen as a member of the committee. My colleagues and I tried our best to better the situation of our town, but to no avail.

We are totally ignored and one can see the state we are in: dirty roads because no street sweepers are engaged for our hamlet.

Streets are in total darkness because broken or faulty lamps are not replaced.

There are many dangerous areas in Fleur-de-Lys. All these complaints have been reported to the local council, but all were ignored.

The Wignacourt arches were to be repaired, but these are still in the state they were in years ago.

My appeal to the residents of Fleur-de-Lys is to make their voices heard so that the competent authorities can take action before our town becomes the symbol of total disaster.
