Films to commemorate traffic victim

The YMCA Valletta Film Festival, dedicated to missionary Niki Cassar, who lost his life in a traffic accident earlier this year, is being held between tomorrow and Saturday.

The films will all be shown in the open air on Great Siege Square in Valletta, in front of the law courts, at 7.30 p.m.

The films being shown are The Mission, directed by Roland Joffe, on Monday; Gandhi, directed by Richard Attenborough, on Tuesday; The Wall, directed by Alan Parker, on Wednesday; Kundun, directed by Martin Scorsese, on Thursday; The Doors, directed by Oliver Stone, on Friday; and Life is Beautiful, directed by Roberto Benigni, on Saturday.

Each film will be preceded by another short film from Estonia, Austria and Malta.
