International Translation Agency Ltd said it wanted to make clear it was not involved in the Maltese translation of the draft European constitution.

The Maltese version of the constitution published in Greece last week came under heavy criticism when it was found to be riddled with errors.

"For a number of years now ITA Ltd has been translating material for various international organisations, including the European Union's structures, the World Bank and United Nations specialised agencies, to name but a few.

"We are internationally recognised as a reputable translation company and the quality of our work has never been put into question," ITA said.
