All sites and museums falling under the responsibility of Heritage Malta will be extending their opening hours for the summer.
Heritage Malta is the government agency responsible for the management of 24 national museums and heritage sites in Malta and Gozo.
This pilot scheme, which will run until September, will make the prime sites and museums more conveniently accessible to tourists and the public.
Sites and museums will be open between 7.45 a.m. and 2 p.m. everyday.
In addition to this, the National Museum of Archaeology, along with the Armoury and State Rooms at the Palace, will remain open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until 5.30 p.m.
Hagar Qim and Mnajdra, Ghar Dalam and the War Museum in Valletta will remain open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays up to 5.30 p.m.
The Maritime Museum and Inquisitor's Palace, in Vittoriosa will remain open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays up to 5.30 p.m.
St Paul's Catacombs in Rabat will remain open on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays up to 5.30 p.m.
The Hypogeum will remain open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays up to 5 p.m. The last guided tour at this site will commence at 3.30 p.m.
All museums and sites will be closed on public holidays.
