Another group of bus drivers are to take part in the EU Leonardo da Vinci Malta Bus Project to be held in Portsmouth from July 6.

The programme is coordinated and managed by the Malta Tourism Authority's human resource and support services directorate, together with the Malta Transport Authority and the Public Transport Association, in collaboration with the Gozo Bus Owners Association. The programme was approved by the EUPU - European Programmes Unit.

The bus owners and drivers, as well as two Malta Transport Authority committee members, will take part in a two-week training programme to improve their skills.

This is the second time that staff working in the transport services sector are to take part in such a programme. Last year 10 local drivers were awarded nationally accredited certificates of achievement.
