The Maltese national baseball team continued its preparations by playing an intra-squad friendly match at Marsa last Sunday.
Manager Dennis Catania declared himself pleased with the team's progress for their upcoming trip to Antwerp where they will participate in the 13th Belgian Open, one of the most prestigious tournaments in Europe.
Catania is expected to take a 16-man squad to Antwerp where the Maltese are likely to be regarded as underdogs.
They will be competing against some of the top teams in Europe as well as formidable opposition from the United States and Australia.
However, the Maltese squad are in high spirits and manager Catania is quietly optimistic.
Malta's first game in Group B will be against the USA Athletes on July 2. Team France will be Malta's second opponents on July 4.
Group A includes Team Belgium and an Australian provincial outfit.
