A 13-year old English girl was critically injured in a jet ski accident at Mellieha Bay yesterday afternoon, the police said.

According to their investigations, the girl was a passenger on the jet ski when she fell off and suffered a serious head injury when she received a knock from the vessel.

The police said she was with family members at the time of the accident.

A magisterial inquiry and police investigations are underway.
