Members of the police Administrative Law Enforcement unit yesterday rescued a Maltese diver who was carried out to sea by strong currents.

The incident happened at around 4 p.m. off Zonqor Point, Marsascala. The diver's friends raised the alarm when he did not surface on time.

He was found on the surface a short time later by an ALE team that happened to be close by on a dinghy, even as units of the Civil Protection Department and the AFM were starting their search.
