Alternattiva Demokratika supported calls by Mellieha local council and Nature Trust for the protection of the sand dune in the Mellieha white tower area.

AD's spokesperson for the environment, Mark Causon, said that camping should be prohibited, and bollards and chains placed around the dune to prevent parking and camping activities on the sand dune itself.
